Elizabeth M. (Ann) Groh died Friday, Dec. 5, 2008. 

There will be no service as her body was donated to the University of Kansas for study. A memorial Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

She was born Jan. 19, 1923, at Paola, the daughter of Harry C. Treaster and Bessie Alice Scott. She attended school in Paola.

She moved to Lawrence in 1952 to work for the late Julius Marks at Mark’s Jewelry. In 1960 she went into the finance business and worked until 1972. In 1973 she opened the Orange Pump Antique Shop in Osawatomie until 1988 when she returned to Lawrence.

On Sept. 8, 1942, she married Garner E. (Dutch) Groh who died in December 1992, shortly after they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They had a daughter, Karen Lee.

She was charter member of the Lawrence Pilot Club, Fidelity Shrine No. 11, Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, Douglas County AARP Chapter 1696, Belton Historical Society and Lecompton Historical Society.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a sister, Florence Irene; a brother, Harry J. Treaster; and a grandson.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen Lee Testa of Topeka; brother, Donald E. Treaster of Omaha, Neb.; two grandsons; a great-grandson; a great-granddaughter; and a great-great-grandson.

She will be buried at a later date in the Somerset Cemetery in Miami County.
