Brandi Nicole Shideler, daughter of Rick Shideler and Sheri Hart-Shideler, all of Paola, exchanged wedding vows with Michael Ryan Light of Paola, son of Claude and Kathy Light of Osawatomie, on Oct. 4, 2008, at the Grand Loft in Osawatomie. The afternoon double-ring ceremony was conducted by the Rev. Leslie King. Wedding theme colors were fall colors of chocolate and latte. The bride was given in marriage by her parents. Her gown was a two-tone champagne and chocolate full-length A-line gown with sparkle accents on the heart-shaped bodice. Chocolate trim adorned the dress and six-foot train. A two-tier veil completed the ensemble. Sarah Hammer and Jeannette Moore both served as matrons of honor. Bridesmaids were Amanda West, Amy Johnson and Jessica Forster. They all wore latte-colored satin full-length gowns and carried arrangements of fall flowers. Nieces and nephews of the bride and groom served as flower girls and ring bearers. Flower girls were Sydney Caswell, Gabriella Blazic and Olivia Blazic. They wore white satin tea-length dresses. Ring bearers were Charles Light and Adam Blazic. Best man was Claude Light. The groom’s sons, Kalei and Adam Light, were junior best men. Charles Light, brother of the groom, Adam Blazic, brother-in-law of the groom, Doug Carter and Craig Moriconi served as groomsmen. Ushers were the bride’s brother, Rickey Shideler Jr., and the bride’s stepbrother, Sam Bivins. A reception catered by the father of the bride was held at the Grand Loft. The wedding cake was a three-tiered chocolate cake with ivory icing trimmed with chocolate ribbon and fall-colored leaves. Mrs. Light attended Paola High School and is employed at Light Plastering and Stucco. Her husband attended Hawaii Baptist Academy and is also employed at Light Plastering and Stucco. They will make their home in Olathe.
