Santa Claus paid a special visit to the Paola Free Library on Friday.

Children age 3 up to kindergarten and their siblings got a chance to tell Santa what they want for Christmas during story hour.

Each child hopped up onto his lap, some more tentative than others, and received a wrapped gift of books.

Dolls seemed to be a common theme, as sisters Hope and Emma Bishop asked for doll houses, and 5-year-old Kallie Brown asked for a washer for her baby doll clothes.

After all of the children got a chance to sit on the famous lap and have their picture taken, they enjoyed some holiday treats.
