Lillian Margaret Ronsick Barnes, 83, Garland, Texas, died Nov. 11, 2008.

She was born March 13, 1925, in Humboldt, Kan., to Alvin Conrad George and Leora Minnie Harris Ronsick. 

Her parents moved to Paola when she was 2 years old. She graduated from Paola High School with the class of 1944.

She held many offices in the Shawnee Nieman School P.T.A., including president, and was a life member of the Kansas Congress of Parents and Teachers. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was vivacious in activities at home, work and church and was always ready to help anyone in need. She will be missed tremendously by family and friends.

She married Dale Warren Barnes of Louisburg on Oct. 27, 1946. He preceded her in death Feb. 27, 1987. A sister, Vivian Laverne McCready, also preceded her in death.

She is survived by a son, Michael Dale Barnes of Murfreesburo, Tenn.; a daughter, Marcia Lillian Barnes Baxter of Rowlett, Texas; three grandchildren; a brother, Omar Alvin Ronsick of Hutchinson, Kan.; and sisters Juanita Buckman of Osawatomie, Patricia Woods of Walnut Creek, Calif., and Connie Williams of Collinsville, Texas.

Burial was at Garland Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements were by Williams Funeral Directors in Garland, Texas.
