In unison, each tiny head tilts upward, as the big man in red from the North Pole trots into the classroom at First Presbyterian Church in Paola. "Look, it's Santa," a child shouts out, cracking the silence of a room full of children in awe. "They're never this quiet," a mom points out among the flashes of cameras, as the children take tentative turns sitting on Santa's lap and describing their Christmas wishes during the Dec. 17 visit. The wishes ranged from a sail boat to a light saber, but 4-year-old Kelsey Iggert's took the cake. "I want a sister," she told Santa. The request drew quite a response from parents in the room, including Kelsey's mother, Janelle, who immediately called her husband, Joe. "He said 'dream on,'" Janelle said with a laugh. "That might not be up to Santa this year."
