Irene F. Trageser, 82, Paola, died Dec. 27, 2008, at Olathe Medical Center. 

She was born Dec. 29, 1925, in Hoisington, Kan., to Emanuel and Amelia Wilhelm Schwein.

She moved to Paola in the early 1940s and graduated from high school in 1945.

On July 12, 1951, she married Leo Trageser in Wea. She enjoyed bowling, sewing, quilting and crocheting, making crafts and spending time with her husband.

She was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Paola.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Brady.

Survivors are her husband, Leo of the home; a daughter, Cheryl Trageser of Osawatomie; a son, Jerry Trageser of Bellevue, Neb.; and three grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Services are at 11 a.m. today at First Lutheran Church, 401 E. Piankishaw St., Paola. Arrangements are by Penwell-Gabel Paola Chapel, 305 N. Pearl St., Paola, KS 66071, (913) 294-2372. Memorials may be made to the church.
