Peter Mark Rearick, 56, Louisburg, died Dec. 26, 2008, at St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, Mo.

He was born April 30, 1952, in Morristown, N.J., the son of John Shaw and Marie Marshall Rearick.

He graduated from Southwest High School in 1970.

He married Donna Schultz in September 1970. They had one daughter, Dianna, born in September 1971.
 
He joined the U. S. Air Force in April 1972 and was stationed at Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, Wyo. While in the Air Force he was a plumbing specialist and continued plumbing after his honorable discharge in 1977.

After leaving the Air Force, he and his family moved to Belton, Mo., and in 1980, they moved to Belleville, Texas. After six and a half years, he moved his family to Louisburg, where they continue to live.

In 1994, he started work at the Kansas City VA Medical Center, where he worked until becoming ill Nov. 10. While there, he earned numerous awards and honors for his work, including “Man of the Year.” He was a licensed plumber in Missouri and Texas and a member of the Plumbers Union in Texas.

He was a member of the American Legion as well as the American Federation of Government Employees.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Donna of the home; a daughter, Dianna Lovelace of the home; three brothers, John Rearick of Houston, Texas, his twin, Allan Rearick of Belton, Mo., and Paul Rearick of New Orleans, La.; and four grandchildren.

Services were Tuesday followed by burial with military honors at the Louisburg Cemetery. Arrangements were by Penwell-Gabel Louisburg Chapel, 120 S. Broadway St., Louisburg, KS 66053, (913) 837-4310. To leave condolences for the family visit www.penwellgabel.com.
