Nora L. Pfannes, 90, South Kansas City, Mo., died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008, after a lengthy battle with cancer at St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, Mo. She was born Nov. 21, 1918, in Stilwell, the daughter of Harry Lee and Pearl Groh Burgess. She was united in marriage April 8, 1942, to Albert J. Pfannes in Wea. She was a homemaker who particularly enjoyed flower gardening. She was a member of the Holy Rosary Wea Catholic Church. Mrs. Pfannes was preceded in death by her husband. She leaves many nieces, nephews, family and friends who will greatly miss her. Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Bucyrus. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Arrangements are by Penwell-Gabel Louisburg Chapel, 120 S. Broadway St., Louisburg, KS, (913) 837-4310.
