Chamber to meet with legislators PDF Print E-mail

The Spring Hill Chamber of Commerce is set to meet with legislators in the spring to discuss business topics.

The 2009 Legislative Breakfast Series, hosted by the Johnson County Public Policy Council, is scheduled to begin in January. The purpose of the series is to improve the communication and exchange of information between the business community and the Johnson County state legislative delegation.

Legislators and senators will be available to discuss legislative updates and other business issues. The Spring Hill Legislative Breakfast is scheduled for March 7. 

The meetings will be held at the Ritz Charles in Overland Park, 9000 W. 137th St. Participants are asked to wear casual attire.

All breakfasts are scheduled to begin at 7:30 a.m. Scheduled breakfasts are:
  •    Jan. 24, speakers include Sen. David Wysong and Reps. Ray Merrick, Cindy Neighbor, Kevin Yonder and Kay Wolf.
  •     Feb. 7, speakers include Sen. Julia Lynn and Reps. Lisa Benlon, Jill Quigley, Arlen Siegfreid and Ron Worley.
  •     March 7, speakers include Sen. Jeff Colyer and Reps. Sheryl Spalding, Dolores Furtado, Pat Colloton and Scott Schwab.
  •     March 28, speakers include Sen. Karin Brownlee and Reps. Owen Donohoe, Marvin Kleeb, Gene Rardin and Milack Talia.
  •     April 18, speakers include Sens. John Vratil and Tim Owens and Reps. Terrie Huntington, Lance Kinzer, Rob Olson and Mike Slattery.
Reservations for the breakfasts must be made in advance. The deadline is the Wednesday preceding each meeting. Dates and speakers are subject to change.

The price for a single breakfast is $20 for chamber members and $25 for non-members. An $85 discount package is available for all five breakfasts when paid in advance.
