Christine Splichal has been appointed to the new position of information coordinator by the Spring Hill USD 230 Board of Education. The position will take effect Jan. 30. Splichal will be responsible for developing and sending information to patrons and members of the district’s community. The district hopes to build trust and support, and seek input on important issues regarding student achievements, staff quality, communication, financial resources and growth management. Splichal has 18 years of communication experience and is currently involved in several district groups. She holds officer positions in the Spring Hill Middle School Parent-Teacher Organization and is a member of the Prairie Creek Elementary School Site Council. Splichal also served on the district’s strategic planning team. The district received 48 applications for the new position, and three candidates were interviewed. The position was highlighted as a need in the district by the Communication Audit and 2008 Strategic Plan. Splichal has a bachelor of science degree in journalism and mass communications with a speciality in public relations from Kansas State University.
