She was born July 1, 1926, in Binghamton, N.Y., the daughter of Melvin and Minnie Ray. On Nov. 3, 1945, she and William Chamberlain were married in Endicott, N.Y. Mrs. Chamberlain lived most of her life in and around Osawatomie. She worked several years at the Osawatomie State Hospital. Those preceding her in death include a son, William Chamberlain Jr.; a daughter, Wilma; a sister, Beverly Bartley; two brothers, William Ray and Walter Ray; and a great-grandson. Survivors include a son, James Chamberlain of Wichita; three daughters, Anne Tollett of Sand Springs, Okla., Betty Bennett of Springfield, Mo., and Carol Joyce Buckley of Kansas City, Mo.; two sisters, Virginia Ferrier and Barbara Gouge; and three brothers, Robert Ray, Buddy Ray and Victor Ray; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Services were Saturday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home in Paola. Burial was in Elm Grove/Cadmus Cemetery.
