Anyone looking for some laughs is invited to attend a comedy show Friday put on by the Paola High School’s improvisational troupe.

The troupe, called the “League of Potentially Funny People,” is set to put on a show beginning at 7:30 p.m. at Paola High School. Theater director Leslie Coats said donations will be taken for the tickets, with the revenue being used to defray some of the cost of a recent trip to the State Thespian Conference in Wichita.

Twenty-five students attended the conference on Jan. 8, 9 and 10, and PHS student Delaney McCormack was awarded a $1,000 Kansas State Thespian Scholarship. McCormack is one of only 10 students in the state to receive the scholarship.

Theater students also are preparing for a performance of “The Three Musketeers” in March, and students in forensics are getting ready to kickoff their season of competitions next month, Coats said.
