EUDORA — Quentin Garrison and Andrew Henn each scored 10 points to lead the Paola Middle School seventh-grade varsity boys’ basketball team to a 33-28 victory against Eudora on Thursday.

Garrison shot 63 percent, sinking five of eight field goal attempts. He added two steals and one rebound.

Henn made a perfect six of six from the free-throw line and added eight rebounds, two assists and one steal.
Paola pulled away in the fourth quarter with a 10-4 run.

Other players scoring for Paola were Mitchell Sloan, Luke Wilson, Chase Jorgensen and Corey Stallbaumer. Jorgensen and Wilson each had six rebounds.

Cayman Long scored 17 points to lead the junior varsity boys’ to a 42-35 victory.

Long added two steals. Gunnar Karr had two steals and one assist.

Luke Robinson scored six points. Brennan Haley had five points. Other players scoring for Paola were Seth Slayman, Kyler Blankenbiller, Kevin Benton and David Turner.

Hunter Locke scored 14 points as the seventh-grade Paola varsity boys’ defeated Prairie View 46-13 at home Jan. 20.

Nine players scored in the win for the Panthers. After scoring just four points in the first quarter, Paola put the game away with a 20-5 run in the second quarter.

Sloan scored seven points. Ryan Hedding added five points.

Other players scoring for Paola were Brett Golubski, Henn, Taylor, Garrison, Jorgensen and Wilson.

Paola had seven steals in the game. Henn led the way with three steals.

Long made 13 a good number for the Panthers in the junior varsity game, scoring 13 points in a 38-19 victory against the Prairie View Buffalos.

It was another team effort as nine players scored in the game for Paola.

Connor Patton scored six points. Turner and Slayman each had four points.

Other players scoring for Paola were Robinson, Karr, Blankenbiller, Haley and Benton.

Slayman led the defense with four steals. Karr, Blankenbiller and Turner each had two steals.
