Scholar-athletes honored at Burlington PDF Print E-mail

BURLINGTON — Nineteen athletes from Paola High School were honored for their academics at the Burlington Invitational.

Paola girls’ and boys’ basketball players and cheerleaders were named to the Burlington Invitational All-Academic team for maintaining a grade-point average of 3.5 or better.

Taylor Smith made the list twice, selected to the team as a girls’ basketball player and Panther cheerleader.
Paola had eight girls’ basketball players, three boys’ basketball players and nine cheerleaders named to the team.

Girls’ basketball players selected were Courtney Clouse, Courtney Johnson, Taelor Karr, Kayla Ouffutt, Ann Pomatto, Rachel Schmidt, Allison Wood and Smith.

Boys’ basketball players recognized were Michael Bryson, Adam Henn and Hayden Mersman.

Paola cheerleaders named to the team were Lauren Bandyk, Lyndsey Bandyk, Sarah Berner, Paige Gochenour, Abbey Henn, Sydney Peterson, Paige Queen, Natalie Scroggie and Smith.
