Twenty-two-year-old Cameron Guliford of Paola turned $2 into $20,000 recently thanks to a Bonus Crossword ticket. According to a Kansas Lottery news release, Guliford, who said he only plays scratch tickets occasionally, purchased the ticket at Casey’s General Store, 404 S. Silver St., and hit it big. “I’ll never forget this day,” he said in the release. The lucky winner said he will pay off his debts and may go on a vacation with the prize money. “A vacation is something you’ll have memories of forever,” Guliford said in the release. “That would be a really nice way to remember my win.” Guliford’s roommate, Dustin Powell, accompanied him to Lottery headquarters in Topeka to claim the prize. “He was trying to hide it from me, probably because he didn’t want me to be jealous,” Powell joked in the release. “We live together, so he’ll benefit,” Guliford joked back.
