Local residents soon will have the opportunity to learn some parenting tips during courses offered at Paola United Methodist Church.

“ProActive Parenting” is a series of courses by parenting expert Jim Williams. It features six four-week courses on various aspects of parent-child interaction.

The Rev. Jim Hopwood said the first in the series, “Communicating With Your Child or Teen,” runs for four Mondays starting March 2. The one-hour class starts at 7 p.m.

The $12 fee for the course covers the cost of a workbook and child care. Advance registration is required. For more information, call the church office at 294-3475.
