Prairie Creek Elementary School is preparing for its kindergarten roundup. The event for children in the Prairie Creek area is scheduled for 8:30 to 11 a.m. April 3 at Prairie Creek Elementary, 17077 W. 165th St., Olathe. PCES’s roundup is for children who will be 5 years old by Aug. 31. Brenda Minden of PCES said the children will have a mini kindergarten session. Parents will receive a explanation of filling out forms and will receive a tour of the building. “It gives them an idea of what to expect when they come to kindergarten,” Minden said. “It familiarizes the parents with our procedures.” Parents wanting to sign up are asking to call the school’s office at (913) 592-7255 by March 27. Parents should bring a certified copy of the student’s birth certificate, social security card and a record of immunizations.
