Middle School students from Paola, Louisburg, Holy Trinity and Holy Rosary Wea schools will converge on the Miami County Fairgrounds on Monday for Earth Day indoctrination. EARTH Day breaks down to Earth Awareness Researchers for Tomorrow’s Habitat. The seminar will provide innovative, experiential learning opportunities to help children become wise stewards of the environment. Topics on the program include a portable sawmill demonstration, EnviroScape, H20 olympics, water quality hopscotch, Earth adventure, our precious ground water, how Miami County rocks were formed, nature recycling with worms, household hazardous waste and living with nature. Experts in each area of learning experience will provide demonstrations and instructions to improve the children’s awareness of the environment surrounding them. Activities begin at 9 a.m. and will continue throughout the afternoon until completed.
