After living and working in several different parts of the country, Chris McCullison thinks he’s found the perfect place to raise a family and do what he’s been preparing himself to do for years — lead a congregation. It’s been less than a month since McCullison took over as full-time pastor at Fontana Christian Church — his first preaching position — but he’s already feeling like he and his family fit in. “Everybody has been great,” McCullison said. “They had a big sign welcoming me and my family.” After graduating from Ozark Christian College in 1993, McCulison has served several different ministries, including positions in Texas, Arkansas, Colorado and Nebraska. Most recently, he was an associate pastor for Northside Christian Church in Kansas City, Mo. But his faith was leading him to a full-time preaching position. “God was calling me into preaching,” he said. McCullison said he loves the rural atmosphere around Fontana Christian Church, but he also was blown away by its newness and size. “I’m real excited,” he said. “It’s an incredible facility.” And with only a few sermons already under his belt, McCullison said he and his family already feel comfortable with their new church congregation. “I’ve been in 12 people’s homes in the last two weeks,” he said. McCullison has a wife, Becky, and two children, Caleb, 8, and Alexia, 6. His sermons can be heard online at www.fontanachristianchurch.org.
