Kelli Anne Dameron and Jeremy Alan Whitney, both of Paola, were married April 4, 2009, at the Hillsdale Presbyterian Church. The bride is the daughter of Robert and Debra Dameron of Paola. She was given in marriage by both of her parents, and she was escorted to the altar by her father. She wore an ivory, full-length, strapless, sweetheart, A-line gown. The dress was embellished with an embroidered, beaded motif comprised of crystals, glass beadwork and sequins as sparkle accents on the bodice, cathedral train and covered button back. The two-tier veil had sparkle accents. She carried a bouquet of calla lilies and orange roses. The Rev. Kirk Johnston conducted the double-ring ceremony. Leona Smith was the organist. The groom’s sister, Jessica Truitt, was the soloist. Songs were “We’ve Only Just Begun” and “When You Say Nothing at All.” Jessica also lit the candles. Maid of honor was the bride’s sister, Hannah Roberts. Bridesmaids were Amber Whitney, sister of the groom; Kayla Weaver and Jessica Thoden. The attendants wore short, strapless flat taffeta dresses with ruching. The dresses were orange and orange floral. Best man was James Whitney, brother of the groom. Other groomsmen were Brian Robinson, Quentin New and Josh Hermreck. Colton Ridge Whitney served as an honorary best man. He escorted his grandmother to her seat. The song “We’ve Only Just Begun” was also used at the bride’s parents’ wedding. A reception was held at the Miami County Fairgrounds. Mrs. Whitney is a 2006 graduate of Paola High School. She works at Great Southern Bank in Paola. Her husband is a 2003 graduate of Paola High School, and he is employed at DMA Electric in Stilwell. After a wedding trip to Kansas City, the Whitneys are at home in Paola.
