Senior citizens in the community will come together Saturday for a night of fun, food, dance and music.

Denim and Diamonds, a senior potluck dinner, is scheduled for 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Spring Hill Community Center, 613 Race St.

Patti Stites, of Diamond C, said the organization has done several similar events for New Year’s Eve and Valentine’s Day. Stites is expecting about 100 people to attend. She said the events are a heartwarming experience.

“They have such a wonderful time,” Stites said. “They are a vibrant group of people.”

Entrees — including grilled pork tenderloin, chicken and barbecue ribs — will be provided. Attendees are being asked to bring an appetizer, side dish or dessert to share with everyone in attendance.

Live music and entertainment will be provided by Don Accurso and his Orchestra.

Tickets are available at the Spring Hill Civic Center, 401 N. Madison St. Everyone is invited to attend, but a ticket is required for admittance and door prizes.

For more information contact Stites at (913) 686-5259 or by e-mail at pstites@
