Emily Suzanne Clement of Overland Park and Brett Anthony Wobker of Lenexa were united in marriage May 30, 2009, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Paola.

The bride is the daughter of Marty and Diane Clement of Overland Park. She was escorted to the altar by her father and given in marriage by both of her parents.

The groom is the son of Lyle and Rita Wobker of Paola.

The Rev. Keith Lunsford conducted the double-ring ceremony.

Stacy Niedbalski was the pianist and Janie Anthony sang “Ave Maria.” Other vocalists were Josie Widener, Kari Kennedy, Max Mauro and Matt Maes. Songs included “I Have Loved You,” “Strength for the Journey,” “We Have Been Told,” “You are Mine,” “How Beautiful” and “Litany of the Saints.”

The wedding colors were tangerine and yellow.

Mrs. Wobker wore a Divina Sposa “Garcia” gown. The ivory-colored double satin A-line gown featured a high V-neck and had scattered appliques on the skirt and covered buttons down the back. Her waist-length veil was trimmed with satin and beading on the edges. She carried a bouquet of silk calla lilies.

The maid of honor was Chelsea Schmidt, and bridesmaids were Shanda Carney, April Mick, Janie Anthony, and the groom’s sister, Bridget Heier.

They wore long, tangerine-colored A-line iridescent taffeta dresses featuring a V neckline and gathering at the bodice and waist with a drop sash. They carried bouquets of white and yellow silk gerbera daisies that were made by the bride and April Mick.

The ring bearer was Joel Heier, nephew of the groom.

A.J. Heier served as his brother-in-law’s best man. Groomsmen were Nathan Scherman, Brian Ziegler, and the bride’s brothers, Alex and Adam Clement. Ushers were Lee Scherman, Mike Stamm, Dave Pratt and David Spencer.

A reception was held at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church hall in Olathe.

Mrs. Wobker is a 2006 graduate of Kansas State University with a degree in secondary education. She teaches history and theology and coaches softball at St. James Academy in Lenexa.

Mr. Wobker is a 2005 graduate of Kansas State University with a degree in electrical engineering. He is an electrical engineer in the public works department at Fort Leavenworth.

The couple took a wedding trip to New Zealand and Fiji. They are at home in Lenexa.
