There will be plenty of Halloween fun to go around this weekend in Paola. Paola USD 368 students will be getting into the spooky spirit of the fall season Friday afternoon during the annual “monstrous march.” Sunflower Elementary School students decked out in their Halloween costumes will head over to Cottonwood Elementary School to team up with the younger students at about 1:45 p.m. Friday. The students will then parade together around the bus loop at Cottonwood showing off their costumes and posing for pictures. Hillsdale Elementary School also plans to have a parade for its costumed students beginning at 2 p.m. The students will walk through the halls of the school and then parade to some stops throughout the town. The Halloween fun continues on Saturday, when Paola’s annual parade is set to kick off at 5:30 p.m. Children and their parents can start lining up in their costumes at about 5:15 p.m. in the parking lot between City Hall and Great Southern Bank. Everyone will then parade around Park Square. The event is sponsored by the Paola Chamber of Commerce.
