Mr. and Mrs. Marion Stites of rural Paola will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary with an open house from 2 to 4 p.m., Nov. 22 at the First Baptist Church, 801 Brown St., Osawatomie. Marion Stites and Pat Elliott were married Nov. 20, 1959, at Miami Presbyterian Church followed by a reception at the home of the bride’s parents. The tablecloth was made by the bride’s Grandmother Elliott. The couple made their home in Osawatomie. Mr. Stites retired from Kansas City Power & Light Co. Mrs. Stites is a retired hairdresser. The couple have two children, Rita Lynne Thiry of Olathe and April Diane Hite of Lawrence, and five grandchildren with a sixth expected in January. Rita and Gregg Thiry and April and Ken Hite will host the open house. They request no gifts, but cards are welcome. Cards may be sent to the couple at 34725 New Lancaster Rd., Paola, KS 66071.
