The first fall dance recital for the Spring Hill Recreation Commission was a success.  More than 100 people attended to watch students in the recreation’s dance groups on Thursday night. Jamie Polfer, program supervisor, said it was their first year offering a dance program. “We’re trying to offer something new for kids that never danced competitively before,” Polfer said. “This was our first big on-stage recital. LaDonna Buchman, dance instructor, said the program is good for dance preparation. “I think it’s a great experience for the girls to see if this is something they want to continue with,” Buchman said. Instructor Melanie Landis said the young ladies in the show did a wonderful job. “They were a lot of fun to teach, and I hope they return to the SHRC dance program for future sessions,” Landis said. SHRC is offering beginner twirling and dance classes in the fall and winter. Classes will also be offered in the spring.
