Panther Lube and Tire is now open and ready to facilitate your vehicle’s needs.

Brian and Angie Davey of Paola opened their new business at 1121 E. Kaskaskia St. on Nov. 9 and will be hosting a customer appreciation day event on Saturday.
The customer appreciation day will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the two owners will be serving hot dogs and having a car wash.

Brian said he’s very excited about owning his first business and getting the word out to the community.

“We figured customer appreciation day would be a good way to let people know about us,” he added.

The lube and tire shop took six months to complete from the day the property was purchased until the building was completed, and it features full oil service, filter changes, checking fluids and tire pressure, as well as making sure belts are in proper working order.

Featuring two car service pits and large garage doors, the business can also service recreational vehicles and sometimes tractor trailers if the customer calls ahead of time.
Although Brian grew up in Osawatomie and Angie in Louisburg, the two have settled in Paola to start their business.

“Paola is a good place for it,” Brian said.

Brian’s great aunt and uncle Nancy and John O’Connor own 10 similar lube and tire stores in Texas, where they reside. The two have several relatives in Paola and felt it was a perfect place to continue their services.

“We wanted to support the community,” Nancy said. She added that everyone in the area is welcome to come in and see them, from Parker and Fontana to Louisburg, Osawatomie and Paola residents.

Panther Lube and Tire is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
