1979-2009 Troy David Johns, 30, Osawatomie, died in a car accident east of Paola early Dec. 17, 2009. The son of Jack David and Florence Irene Renner Johns, he was born April 17, 1979, in Paola. He grew up and attended school in the Osawatomie area with his siblings, Misty, Ericka and Weston. He traveled around the country as a carpenter, learning many trades of work and developing a strong work ethic. Working on his truck and his Mustang gave him much pride. There was nothing he couldn’t fix, and he liked the challenge. He enjoyed hunting, playing pool and being with his friends and girlfriend, but his greatest joy revolved around fishing. Paddlefish were his prize trophies, and he loved to flaunt it. His friendship was a catch itself, and even though his catches were huge, it will never compare to the love and compassion of his siblings. No matter what life threw at him, he always had a solution. He would speak his mind, and it spiced up his life. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. He is survived by his parents, Jack and Florence Johns of the home; sisters, Misty Dawn Johns of Edgerton, and Ericka Jo Johns of Paola; a brother, Weston Skyler Johns of Osawatomie; and girlfriend, Bridgette Katherine Davis of Osawatomie. Services were Tuesday with burial following at the Osawatomie Cemetery. Arrangements were by Penwell-Gabel Paola Chapel, 305 N. Pearl St., Paola, KS 66071, (913) 294-2372.
