The Wilders will entertain local residents Saturday during a Kansas Day concert at the Paola Community Center. The hillbilly band is composed of Betse Ellis, Ike Sheldon, Phil Wade and Nate Gawron. The group’s Web site, www.wilderscountry.com, describes its music as having soul that lies in the Ozarks. The musicians blend old-time fiddle tunes and allegiances to Hank Williams and Johnny Cash with some of their own innovative musical approaches, according to the site. Doors for the event are scheduled to open at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, with the event starting at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $10. The Paola Community Center is located at 905 E. Wea St.
