Posting three 20-point quarters, the Gardner-Edgerton offense was too much for the Spring Hill boys’ basketball team Thursday evening in a 79-63 loss. The Gardner-Edgerton Trailblazers went on a 20-12 run in the first quarter. Five players scored in the second frame for Spring Hill as the Broncos cut the deficit by three points on a 16-13 edge. Jordan Miller made five points in the frame, including a 3-pointer. Derrick Koehn and Ben Atwell each had four points in the quarter. Gardner-Edgerton opened the second half with a 22-17 run in the third quarter. Spring Hill scored 18 points in the fourth quarter, but Gardner-Edgerton put down 24 points in the frame. Koehn scored a team-high 13 points for the Spring Hill Broncos. Miller finished with 11 points. Nathan Stiles added 10 points. Other players scoring for Spring Hill were Rob Sharemet, Brady Donahue, Ben Atwell, Nick Gilliland, Mitch Watson and Eric Kahn. Spring Hill made 24 field goals in the game, including three 3-pointers. The Broncos sank 12 of 16 free-throw attempts. Gardner-Edgerton made 34 field goals with one 3-pointer. The Trailblazers made 10 of 14 from the foul line. Spring Hill was at St. James on Tuesday evening. Results were too late for press time. See the Miami County Weekend on Friday for complete coverage.
