Students at Prairie Creek Elementary School recently spent time helping people miles away. PCES’s student council organization have assembled 140 kits for the citizens in Haiti after the earthquake. Some of the items in the kits include towels, soap, shampoo, combs and Band-Aids. The student’s families also assisted with the care kits. The kits were given to Heart to Heart International. Heart to Heart is located in Olathe. The organization specializes in assisting people in need across the world. “Even though we are a smaller elementary school, I am always amazed at how our students and parents give so generously of their time and resources to each and every project as if we were a large elementary school,” said Tammy Endecott, fifth-grade teacher and student council advisor. “I am very proud to be working at a school that believes in giving back.”
