Mr. and Mrs. Clifford O. Durland celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary July 18 at the Paola Christian Church.
  Clifford Durland and Betty Matherly were married July 20, 1945, in Osawatomie. Mr. Durland grew up in Paola and Mrs. Durland in Osawatomie, giving them reason to have many debates over the years between the Panther and the Trojan. The couple was joined by their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren for the morning church service. A reception featuring cake and punch was given by their children, and church members and family enjoyed reminiscing with them. The food and decorations were sky blue, appropriate for a 65-year celebration.
