RESOLUTION NO. 7-1-2019

A RESOLUTION FIXING A TIME AND PLACE AND PROVIDING FOR NOTICE OF A HEARING BEFORE THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF LOUISBURG, KANSAS, AT WHICH THE OWNER, HIS OR HER AGENT, LIENHOLDERS OF RECORD, OCCUPANTS, AND OTHER PARTIES IN INTEREST OF STRUCTURES LOCATED WITHIN SAID CITY AND DESCRIBED HEREIN MAY APPEAR AND SHOW CAUSE WHY SUCH STRUCTURE SHOULD NOT BE CONDEMNED AND ORDERED REPAIRED OR DEMOLISHED AS AN UNSAFE OR DANGEROUS STRUCTURE.

WHEREAS
, the City of Louisburg Public Officer, did on the 1st day of July 2019, file with the Governing Body of said City, a statement in writing that the structure, hereinafter described, is unsafe and dangerous, and a blight to the neighborhood; and    

WHEREAS, the provisions of K.S.A. 12-1750 et seq. empowers the Governing Body of the City of Louisburg, Kansas to cause the repair or removal of, or to remove any structure located within the corporate limits of the City of Louisburg, Kansas which become unsafe or dangerous; and

WHEREAS, upon receipt by the Governing Body of the City of Louisburg, Kansas a statement in writing that any structure is unsafe or dangerous, the provisions of K.S.A. 12-1752 prescribes the fixing of a time and place for hearing by Resolution of the Governing Body of the City of Louisburg, Kansas.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED BY THE
GOVERNING BODY OF THE
CITY OF LOUISBURG, KANSAS:


That a hearing will be held on the 19th day of August, 2019, before the Governing Body of the City at 6:30 P.M., at City Hall, 215 South Broadway, Louisburg, Kansas, concerning the structure located on the property commonly referred to as 108 South Broadway, and legally described as:

Lots 2 and 3, Block 36 Town of Louisburg originally platted as Town of St. Louis, also known as Simms and Doyle’s Addition, Miami County, Kansas.

At that time, the owner, his or her agent, any lienholders of record, and any occupant and any other parties in interest, as that term is defined by law, may appear and show cause why such structure should not be condemned as an unsafe or dangerous structure and ordered repaired or demolished.

BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall cause this Resolution to be published and shall give notice of the aforesaid hearing in the manner provided by law.
