SPRING HILL — The Spring Hill school district plans to locate its fifth elementary school in the Dayton Creek subdivision near 191st Street and Lone Elm Road.

Spring Hill school board member, during their March 18 meeting, voted unanimously to enter into a contract with Dayton Creek developers.

“The Spring Hill school district appreciates the partnership with the developer of Dayton Creek who is generously contributing infrastructure and development assistance, which was instrumental in making this project possible,” Spring Hill Superintendent Wayne Burke said.

The project timeline for Dayton Creek Elementary School calls for a six-month design and bid phase and 17 months for construction, with an anticipated opening for the 2021-22 school year, according to a news release.

“We are grateful to our community for supporting this elementary school during the 2018 bond election and to Dayton Creek for their generous partnership,” Board President Doug Updike said.
