PAOLA – Residents in Miami and Linn counties are bracing for another round of winter weather, starting in the early evening hours Saturday, Feb. 16.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory from 6 p.m. Saturday until 6 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 17. The weather service is forecasting light freezing rain, occasionally mixed with snow, for the two-county area, with ice accumulations up to a tenth of an inch possible.

The weather service said motorists should be prepared for slippery roads and sub-freezing temperatures overnight.

The advisory comes one day after a storm blanketed the area with 4-5 inches of snow, prompting school closures and some businesses and government agencies to close early Friday.
