SPRING HILL — A fireworks stand along U.S. Highway 169 near Spring Hill was robbed in the early morning hours of Monday, July 1.
According to a news release from the Spring Hill Police Department, officers were dispatched at 1 a.m. July 1 in reference to a reported armed robbery at a fireworks stand in the 18700 block of Highway 169.
One of the nine locations listed online for Pyro Papas Fireworks is 18781 S. U.S. Highway 169.
Upon arrival, officers located a male employee who sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Two suspects were described as white males in grey hoodies, according to the release.
A person identifying themself as the victim’s stepmother made a social media post showing a photo of the victim’s swollen eye and reporting that the two men came in with guns and hit her stepson in the face with the butt of one of the guns. They reportedly stole fireworks, along with the victim’s phone, laptop and Bluetooth speaker.
