Local FFA members earn scholarships

MANHATTAN, Kan. — Four Louisburg High School FFA members received scholarships for their performance in the Nursery/Landscape Career Development event.

Awards were presented during the 91st Kansas FFA Convention, May 29-31, in Manhattan.

STIHL Outdoor Power Equipment is providing $1,000 scholarships to the top four individuals in the nursery/landscape event, and all four recipients are from Louisburg’s FFA chapter, according to an FFA release. The scholarship winners are Hattie Harris, Hallie Hutsell, Addie Katzer and Faith Seuferling.

Four local FFA members also are among 60 Kansas students awarded $1,000 Ford Trucks/Built Ford Tough Scholarships during the convention.

The recipients are: Katzer of Louisburg; Halle Schindler of Paola; Kenzie McAtee of Prairie View; and Samantha LeBlanc of Spring Hill.
