Paola’s annual fireworks display will begin at dusk Wednesday, July 3, at Lake Miola.
The event is organized each year by the Paola Chamber of Commerce, which relies on community donations to pay for the show.
Donations currently are being accepted, and requested donations will be collected at the gate Wednesday night and in the Cottonwood Elementary parking lot shortly before the start of the show.
The show will begin at dusk (about 9:30 p.m.), and the gates will open at 4:30 p.m. to give attendees an opportunity to pick out a prime viewing spot early and enjoy the summer evening at the lake.
Those attending the fireworks show can expect no major changes from last year, chamber officials said. The fireworks will again be shot from the southeast corner of the lake.
Local law enforcement officials will be on hand to help with crowd control and security, and their time has been donated by the city.
