PAOLA — A 51-year-old woman walked into the lobby of the Paola Justice Center at about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, battered and bruised from an alleged domestic violence incident the night before.

The woman asked to report a battery, and officers quickly noticed she had extensive bruising and lacerations on multiple areas of her body, according to a Paola Police Department news release.

The victim reported being physically injured as well as being threatened with multiple firearms by the suspect, identified as Terrence R. Jackson, 46, of Paola, according to the release.

The woman was able to flee the residence Tuesday morning and sought help from family members and law enforcement, according to the release.

Jackson was taken into custody without incident by Paola police officers at about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, and he currently is in the Miami County Jail. The police department has requested charges through the Miami County Attorney’s Office, and the investigation is ongoing, according to the release.
