LOUISBURG — Mackenzie Scholtz scored five goals as the Louisburg girls soccer team blanked Bonner Springs 10-0.
Scholtz scored the first three goals of the game and the Lady Cats never looked back at home Thursday, May 2.
Morgan Messer also scored three goals in the victory.
Louisburg improved to 10-3 with the victory.
Trinity Moore put one in the back of the net at 5-0.
Messer scored to make it 6-0.
Scholtz scored two more goals, pushing the lead to 8-0.
Messer netted her third goal for the hat trick to make it 9-0 at the half.
Carson Buffington scored the final goal.
The Louisburg girls soccer team notched the 50th win in program history, defeating Basehor-Linwood at home by a score of 7-0 on Tuesday, April 30.
The 50th win came in the program’s 73rd game. The Lady Cats are 50-21-2.
Over that span Louisburg has scored 289 goals (3.95 per game) and allowed just 102 goals (1.39 per game). The Lady Cats have posted 32 shutouts.
The team was created in 2016. Louisburg was runner-up in the state last season.
Erin Lemke and Scholtz had hat tricks in the historic victory.
Scholtz opened the scoring.
Lemke scored on an assist from Scholtz to make it 2-0.
Scholtz put one in the back of the net at 3-0.
Lemke scored the next three goals, giving her four for the game and making the lead 6-0.
Scholtz put her third goal of the game away for the final score of 7-0.
