Louisburg says good-bye to senior softball players

LOUISURG — The Lady Cats softball team honored seniors Madison Svoboda, Karson Griggs and Molly Rison during their final home games at Lewis-Young Park.

Swoboda, Griggs and Rison were escorted onto the field by their parents between games of a doubleheader against Paola on Thursday, May 9.

It was a tough evening for the Louisburg Lady Cats, falling to the Paola Lady Panthers by scores of 15-0 and 16-1.

Svoboda had the lone hit in the first game. Lauren Cutshaw and Brooklyn Diederich walked.

Diederich pitched the complete game. She struck out two and walked two.

Riley Ratliff singled, drove in one run and scored in the second game.

Rison was 2-for-2 with a pair of singles. She also turned a double play.

Mia Wilson started the game. August Daniels pitched in relief.

The Lady Cats lost to Eudora on the road Monday, May 6, by a final of 10-1.

Louisburg had eight hits in the game. The Lady Cats stranded six runners on base.

Griggs doubled.

Alyse Moore had two hits and drove in the lone run. Ratliff hit two singles.

Paige Eccher, Svoboda and Diederich singled.

Diederich started the game, working four innings. She struck out one.

Daniels pitched two innings in relief.
