WICHITA — Seth Richmond struck gold, Ryan Wokutch found silver and Lamont Hill left with bronze as the Paola Panther boys placed third in the Class 4A state track and field meet.

Paola posted 52 points for third place in the meet held at Cessna Stadium in Wichita which concluded Sunday, May 26. The meet started Friday, May 24, and had several rain delays and postponements through Saturday, May 25.

Andale won the Class 4A boys title with 71 points. Piper was runner-up with 59 points.

The Paola Panthers held off fourth-place Chapman by two points for the final team trophy.

It all came down to the 4x400-meter relay, the final event of the meet. Paola entered the event with a five-point lead over Chapman for third place, 47 to 42.

Chapman placed second in the relay, scoring eight points to finish with 50 points.

Paola finished fourth in the 4x400, posting five points to finish with 52 points.

Richmond won the javelin with a mark of 197-2, scoring 10 points in the event. He placed 10th in the 300-meter hurdles and 14th in the 110-meter high hurdles.

Wokutch placed second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.67. He placed 10th in the 100-meter dash.

Champions

The Louisburg Wildcats won the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:25.39. Running the relay were Justin Collins, Blue Caplinger, Ben Wiedenmann and Chris Williams.

Runner-Up

Emma Seidl of Osawatomie had a mark of 39-7.75 for second place in the shot put. She placed 16th in the discus.

Izzy Williams of Spring Hill placed second in the 200-meter dash (Class 5A) with a time of 25.60. She was fifth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.51.

Bronze

Darian Hudgeons of Paola placed third in the 3,200-meter run (Class 4A) with a time of 11:49. Hudgeons ran a time of 5:29.49 for sixth place in the 1,600-meter run.

Lamont Hill of Paola placed third in the triple jump (Class 4A) with a mark of 44-3. He was 10th in the long jump.

Hailey Schlup of Paola, a two-time state qualifier as a sophomore, placed third in the triple jump with a mark of 34-1.

Brennen Feeback, Wyatt O’Leary, Hunter Willyard and Chase Rooney of Spring Hill placed third in the 4x400-meter relay (Class 5A) with a time of 3:27.

Alec Waterman, James Barnett, Jordan Norman and Feeback of Spring Hill placed third in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 43.34.

Chase Rooney of Spring Hill was third in the 300-meter hurdles (Class 5A) with a time of 40.21. He was ninth in the 110-meter high hurdles.

Norman of Spring Hill placed third in the 200-meter dash (Class 5A) with a time of 22.49.

Class 4A Medalists

The Lady Panthers placed ninth in the state with 30 points. The Lady Cats posted 28 points for 10th in the team standings. The Louisburg boys scored 21 points for 13th place.

Connor Hasz, Evan Phillips, Carson Eiltz and Wokutch of Paola ran a time of 43.66 for fourth place in the 4x100-meter relay.

Eiltz, Phillips, Richmond and Wokutch of Paola ran a time of 3:26 for fourth place in the 4x400-meter relay.

Lady Cats Delaney Wright, Rain Pugh, Sydni Keagle, and Carlee Gassman placed fourth in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 4:12.

Wright medaled in four events for the Louisburg Lady Cats. She placed fourth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:00.74. She won a state medal in the 200-meter dash, placing seventh in 27.07. Wright placed eighth in the long jump with a leap of 15-10.5.

Eilts of Paola placed fourth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.22 and crossed the finish line in 39.73 for fourth place in the 300-meter hurdles.

Gassman of Louisburg was fourth in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 47.52.

Shelby Ratner of Paola placed fourth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 1.07.

Alyse Moore of Louisburg had a distance of 131-9 for fourth place in the javelin.

Wildcat Luke Faulkner cleared 13-6 for fourth place in the pole vault.

The Louisburg boys placed fifth in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 43.68. Running the relay were Charlie Koontz, Caplinger, Widenmann and Collins.

Mckenzie Gagnebin of Paola placed fifth in the discus with a mark of 112-10.

Kenzie Gray of Paola had a mark of 36-4.25 for fifth place in the shot put.

Avery Graham of Louisburg placed fifth in the pole vault, going over the bar at 10-0.

Preston Martin of Paola cleared 13-0 for sixth place in the pole vault.

Paola Panthers Aaron Maxwell, Clayton Essex, Christopher Shell and Mason Escobar ran a time of 8:30 for seventh place in the 4x800-meter relay.

Williams of Louisburg ran a time of 52.52 for seventh place in the 400-meter dash.

Mackenzie Kuehl of Paola placed seventh in the javelin with a mark of 121-8.

Jeffrey Schartz of Paola placed seventh in in the javelin with a mark of 172-9.

Hasz of Paola had a leap of 20-1.25 for eighth place in the long jump.

Jordan Leach, Pugh, Keagle and Gassman placed eighth in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 50.69.

So Close

The Lady Panthers placed ninth in the 4x100-meter relay, missing a state medal by one place. Running the relay were Sophie Jones, Anna Phillips, Alyssa Henness and Schlup.

Alyssa Henness of Paola placed ninth in the 200-meter dash, one spot from a state medal. She qualified for state in the 100-meter dash.

Kaegle of Louisburg placed ninth in the 100-meter hurdles.

Kassidy Blann of Paola placed ninth in the pole vault, missing a state medal by one place. She qualified for state with a third-place finish in her regional.

Kiefer Tucker of Louisburg was ninth in the javelin.

State Qualifiers

Chase Robbins of Paola was 10th in the triple jump. Robbins was 11th in the 200-meter dash and 12th in the high jump.

Marina Johnson, Allison Walania, Ratner and Jones finished 10th in the 4x400-meter relay.

Leach of Louisburg placed 12th in the 100-meter dash.

Rowan West of Paola placed 10th in the shot put. He also qualified for state in the discus.

Michael Waldron of Louisburg was 10th in the javelin.

Thomas Koontz of Louisburg placed 12th in the 300-meter hurdles.

Trent Martin of Louisburg was 12th in the pole vault.

Maxwell of Paola was 13th in the 800-meter run.

Brandon Cooper of Louisburg placed 13th in the 100-meter dash.

Seniors Aaron Gulley, Christian Aden and Bryce Filipin and freshman Jay Filipin of Osawatomie placed 14th in the 4x800-meter run. It was the first season of high school track for all four of them.

Morgan Clark of Paola was 14th in the high jump.

Thaid Timblin, Boyd Cole, Sutter Conrad and Beau Beers of Osawatomie placed 14th in the 4x100-meter relay.

Jay Filipin, Bryce Filipin, Cole and Timblin of Osawatomie placed 15th in the 4x400-meter relay.

Timblin of Osawatomie placed 15th in the 200-meter dash.

Anthony Davis of Louisburg was 15th in the 1,600-meter run.

Wildcat Ryan Rogers placed 16th in the 1,600-meter run.

Class 5A

The Spring Hill boys scored 35 points, placing sixth in the team standings. The Lady Broncos were 16th with 15 points.

Medalists

Feeback placed fifth in the triple jump with a mark of 42-11.5. He was seventh in the long jump with a leap of 20-11.25.

Brenden Meek placed fifth in the shot put with a mark of 50-11. He was eighth in the discus with a distance of 145-11.

Alli Frank, Jordyn Anderson, Vienna Lahner and Williams placed sixth in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 4:09.

Frank placed in four events for the Lady Broncos. She was ninth in the triple jump, 15th in the high jump and 16th in the long jump.

Wyatt O’Leary was ninth in the pole vault, one spot away from a medal.

Willyard placed ninth in the 400-meter dash, missing a state medal by one place.

State Qualifiers

Thomas O’Leary placed 10th in the pole vault.

Meredith Todd placed 10th in the shot put and 16th in the discus.

Keen Knittel was 11th in the 110-meter high hurdles. He placed 14th in the 300-meter hurdles.

Madeline Belcher placed 15th in the shot put.

Skyler Navratil, Braxton Dixon, Skyler Burke and Wyatt O’Leary placed 15th in the 4x800-meter relay.

Kenzie Rios was 16th in the shot put.

Class 3A Medalists

O’Rion Davis of Prairie View ran a time of 16.23 for eighth place in the 110-meter high hurdles with a time of 16.23. He was 12th in the 300-meter hurdles.

Brooke Allen placed eighth in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 12:35. Allen placed 11th in the 1,600-,meter run.

Shelby McCain had a mark of 119-4 for eighth place in the javelin.

State Qualifiers

Ariel Alcorn placed 10th in the long jump.

Dominic Victor was 12th in the 400-meter dash.

Brayden Dame placed 12th wth in the pole vault.

The Prairie View girls placed 13th in the 4x100-meter relay.

Jessica Petric placed 13th in the 100-meter dash.

Kinley Baker was 14th in the 400-meter dash.
