SPRING HILL – Hannah Menefee hit a key double for the Lady Panthers in the first game of a doubleheader at Spring Hill. For an encore, she doubled and homered in the second game.
Menefee doubled and drove in two runs as Paola won the opener 3-1 at Spring Hill on Tuesday, April 23.
She was 5-for-5 in the second game, including a home run and a double, leading Paola to a 12-5 victory. Menefee drove in seven runs and scored twice.
Paola improved to 11-3 with the sweep. Spring Hill fell to 11-5.
The first game was a 0-0 pitcher’s duel heading into the third inning. Paola struck for two runs in the third and added one run in the seventh for the 3-1 final.
Alexis Chapman singled twice and scored. Dailey Mitchell walked and singled.
Madison Bryant singled and scored. Kierstan Weitze singled. Aubrey Weatherbie scored.
Weitze pitched the complete game, allowing one run on five hits. She struck out four.
Gage Pinkerton doubled for Spring Hill. Porscha Stocker drove in one run. Peyton Flood scored one run.
Layney Steging, Mariah Hess and Chloe Roberts singled.

Vanessa Murray allowed three runs on eight hits in seven innings of work for the Lady Broncos. She struck out four.
The Lady Panthers scored 12 runs on 15 hits in the second game.
Weatherbie was 4-for-4 with a double and a home run. She drove in one run and scored four runs.
Chapman went 4-for-5 with a double. She drove in two runs and scored three runs.
Grace Lopez singled and scored. Jenna Collier walked and singled. Weitze walked twice and scored two runs.
Third baseman Maggi Morgan turned a double play.
Hauser started the game for Paola. Weitze came on in relief in the fifth inning and closed out the game.
Deuces were wild for Flood of Spring Hill. She had two base hits, drove in two runs and walked twice. She doubled and scored.
Paige Cooper walked, singled and scored twice. Roberts walked, singled and drove in one run. Steging had two base hits and scored.
Stocker singled and drove in one run. Hess singled and scored.
Flood started the game, working into the second inning. Steging pitched in relief.
The Lady Panthers sent the ball flying in a doubleheader split against Fort Scott at home Thursday, April 25.
