IOLA – Hunter Minden doubled and homered but the Prairie View baseball team lost both games of a doubleheader at Iola.

Prairie View was shutout 6-0 in the first game Tuesday, April 2. Iola held Prairie View to two base hits.

Minden had two extra-base hits in the second game, driving home three runs in an 11-4 loss.

Justin Scott doubled and stole a base in the opener. Johnny Molina singled. Gavin Cullor drew a base on balls.

Iola took a 1-0 lead in the first inning, added three runs in the fourth and two more runs in the fifth.

Molina started the game and took the loss. He allowed four runs on four hits in four innings. Molina struck out two.

Mason Walker pitched two innings in relief. Walker gave up two runs on three hits and struck out one.

Minden was 3-for-4 in the second game with a single, double and a home run.

Dilan Schweer singled, doubled and drove home one run. Cullor walked twice, singled and scored. Brock Heide and Scott both walked twice and scored. Heide stole two bases.

Sam Chambers and Walker turned a double play.

Heide started the game and took the loss. He gave up six runs on six hits.

Scott pitched four innings in relief, allowing four runs on eight hits. Chambers pitched the final inning, giving up one run om four hits.
