TOPEKA – The Paola Lady Panther volleyball team ended the season in the Class 4A substate championship match.Paola fell to Topeka-Hayden on its home court in the title match by scores of 16-25 and 14-25.The Lady Panthers opened the substate tournament with a straight set win against Parsons.Paola won the match by scores of 25-22 and 25-20.“We played very anxiously throughout this match against Parsons,” Paola coach Marie Palmer said.

Panthers end season with playoff loss at Chanute
CHANUTE – Paola senior JD Troutman had a hard time walking off the football field for the last time in his high school career, hugging teammates and coaches and family and friends.Troutman was one of the team leaders on a young Paola Panther team that faced a lot of adversity in a challenging 1-8 season.He led the team in rushing, touchdowns and return yards.
