Alberta Fennewald, age 95, of Paola, Kansas passed away peacefully at Kansas City Hospice on May 16, 2025. Alberta was born on December 26, 1929, in Mexico, Missouri to Otto Guy and Ora Gladys Nichols. She married Carl Fennewald on April 3, 1948. They were married for 58 years till Carl’s passing in 2006. They had 5 children with 3 preceding Alberta in death, Cindy Fennewald, Alan Fennewald, and Barb Payne. She is survived by 2 sons Rex ( Regina ) Fennewald of Peoria, Arizona and Max Fennewald of Blue Springs, Missouri, as well as 5 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
 Alberta was a homemaker and helped her husband in their garden by canning what they grew, she was also a seamstress for her daughters and made the bridesmaids dresses for one of her daughters and sons weddings. She was very devoted to her family, faith, and to the church. She worked and organized the funeral dinners at the church for over 30 years and was heartbroken when she didn’t have the strength any longer to do so. Alberta worked in the soup kitchen for 20 years as well. Alberta always had her smile on her face while helping others.
 Family ask memorial contributions to be made to the American Diabetes Association in Alberta’s name in lieu of flowers c/o Dengel and Son Mortuary-Paola Chapel 305 N. Pearl St. Paola, KS 66071.
 Services were held on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Paola.
