Dr. B. Shanker, 73, Spring Hill, Kansas passed away at Olathe Hospice House, Olathe, Kansas on Wednesday, November 6, 2024. Dr. B. was born April 16, 1951 in Ootacamund, Tamil Nadu, India. His parents were Dr. N. Basuviah and Varalakshmi. He graduated from Kasturba Medical College, India and was a child psychiatrist. He worked at Osawatomie State Hospital and retired in 2013 from Southeast Kansas Mental Health Center, Humboldt, Kansas. On June 18, 1979 in Bangalore, Kamataka, India he married Kalpana Marisiddaiah. Dr. B. was a dedicated child psychiatrist in the state of Kansas for more than 30 years.

Dr. B. was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Kalpana; children Shalini, Sheila and Sunil; siblings: Gopal, Murthi, Saraswati, Sunitha and Kala; family members: Sathish (Vinutha), Anitha (Leonard) and Harish; niece Shyla and nephews: Neel, Kumar, Preston and Harrison.
