Peggy Sue Nickols (Bowman) of Spring Hill KS, formerly of Burlington IA and Paola KS, died peacefully at home on November 12, 2024. She was surrounded by her children and loving family.
Peggy was born November 27, 1958 to Richard and Janet(Hill) Bowman at Mercy Hospital in Burlington, IA.
Peggy was a graduate of Burlington High School class of 1977. After graduation, Peggy married her high school sweetheart, Daniel Smothers. Peggy later married Brian Nickols in 2011, after already spending many years together.
Left to mourn her loss are her husband, Brian Nickols, mother Janet Bowman, sisters Carla Clawson(Bruce) and Sheila Martindale(Jeff), brothers Richard Bowman II(Megan) and Bradley Bowman, her children Jason Smothers(Melissa) and Brodi Canaan(Daniel), grandchildren Holiday, Zoe, Xavier, Miles, Davis, Dru, Nora, and Ivy, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Bowman Sr. and brothers-in-law Bruce Clawson and Jeff Martindale.
Peggy worked as a pharmacy tech, bartender and later retired from her in home daycare (Maggie’s Munchkins). She enjoyed plants, Disney movies, camping, and spending time with her family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2pm on November 23, 2024 at Grace Community Church in Spring Hill, KS.
Although Peggy loved her plants, a donation to Grace Community Church is greatly appreciated.
