MANHATTAN — For the week ending July 12, there were 5.7 days suitable for fieldwork, according to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service.

Topsoil moisture supplies rated 14 percent very short, 31 percent short, 52 percent adequate and 3 percent surplus.

Subsoil moisture supplies rated 14 percent very short, 31 percent short, 54 percent adequate, and 1 percent surplus.

Winter wheat harvested was 95 percent, well ahead of 75 percent last year, and ahead of 90 percent for the five-year average.

Corn condition rated 4 percent very poor, 9 percent poor, 34 percent fair, 44 percent good, and 9 percent excellent.
