MANHATTAN — For the week ending September 13, 2020, there were 3.7 days suitable for fieldwork, according to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service.

Topsoil moisture supplies rated 8 percent very short, 29 percent short, 58 percent adequate and 5 percent surplus.

Subsoil moisture supplies rated 9 percent very short, 31 percent short, 57 percent adequate and 3 percent surplus.

Winter wheat planted was 2 percent, near 5 percent for both last year and the five-year average.

Corn condition rated 6 percent very poor, 12 percent poor, 28 percent fair, 41 percent good and 13 percent excellent.

Soybean condition rated 3 percent very poor, 12 percent poor, 34 percent fair, 42 percent good, and 9 percent excellent.

Sorghum condition rated 3 percent very poor, 7 percent poor, 28 percent fair, 49 percent good and 13 percent excellent.

Cotton condition rated 3 percent very poor, 10 percent poor, 39 percent fair, 42 percent good, and 6 percent excellent.
