TOPEKA – Jalyn Stevenson recorded a double-double for Washburn University in a season-opening win against Sioux Falls.Stevenson, a graduate of Spring Hill High School, recorded 12 kills and 17 digs in the match notching the 1,000th kill and 1,000th dig in her collegiate career.It was a big night for Stevenson and the Washburn University volleyball team that had to rally against Sioux Falls.Sioux Falls won the first two sets in the best three-of-five series, taking the first set 25-23 and the second set 30-28.Washburn University came right back, winning the third set 25-13 and the fourth set 25-17.
OSAWATOMIE – The Osawatomie volleyball team did not win its home opener against Baldwin, but the Lady Trojans served notice they are going to compete.Osawatomie went four sets with Baldwin, losing the match three sets to one Tuesday, Sept.

PAOLA – Senior Brylynn Wicker kicked off the home opener with a bang for the Paola Lady Panthers, putting down a kill on the first point for No. 500 in her career.
FORT SCOTT – After four possessions with a pair of interceptions and two punts in the first half, the Paola Panthers opened the second half with a pair of touchdown drives at Fort Scott. Two third-quarter touchdowns got Paola back into the game after trailing 27-0 at the half Friday, Sept 6.
